Your J. Beckon will feel great on traditional mattress foundations, box springs, and platform bed frames. You want to ensure that slats have adequate center support and that they should be no more than 4 inches apart. Foundations should have little give or flexibility. Waiting on new furniture? You can put your J. Beckon on the floor and start sleeping great right away.

We use non toxic materials in our fire barriers for the safety of your health. We use cotton & rayon (the same materials used in clothing) which create a barrier as they melt but do not burn. They act as a thermal barrier so the internal components do not get exposed to the heat. All Luft Beds are tested at Underwriters Laboratory, the largest testing faculty in the US.

Your J. Beckon is a one sided mattress, which means it is a NO-FLIP bed. You can rotate it from head to toe after you have had it for about 6 months, then once a year. In order to prevent breakdown we HIGHLY recommend you protect your mattress with a waterproof mattress protector. This will keep sweat, liquids, and stains off your J. Beckon and keep your warranty intact.

Talalay is an elaborate process that yields very controlled densities and product “feel”. The result is a healthier alternative to petroleum-based foams since petroleum-based foams give off volatile organic compounds as they age. In the marketing of products such as beds that include “natural” latex foams created with the Talalay process, these products are sometimes characterised as ‘organic’ or as completely natural. J. Beckon uses Vita Talalay, a product that does not contain styrene-butadiene and uses the latex from the Hevea tree as the entire base.

Yes! The foams used in our mattresses are all CertiPUR-US® certified. This means the foam has been tested to meet the CertiPUR-US® rigorous standards for emissions, content, performance, and durability. Specifically, the foam is:

• Made without ozone depleters
• Made without PBDEs, TDCPP or TCEP (“Tris”) flame retardants
• Made without mercury, lead and heavy metals
• Made without formaldehyde
• Made without phthalates regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission
• Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) emissions for indoor air quality (less than 0.5 parts per million)

STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® is a globally standardized, independent testing and certification system. They certify fabrics and textiles based on health and safety. The fabric used for our mattresses is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® certified. This means that it has been tested for harmful substances and that the fabric is therefore harmless in human ecological terms. Our fabric is in the highest product class, which is Product class 1, meaning it’s safe for babies and toddlers.
